MEMORY is a Europe-wide project that, from the very beginning, has had the objective of strengthening inter-generation communication as well as promoting dialogue between different cultures. In this context, MEMORY is a convergence point for contributions coming from six different European countries, and is further encouraged by the support of the Community programme "CULTURA 2000". This very peculiar nature of the project not only demonstrates the magnitude of collaboration that has been necessary, but also the multiplicity of the points of view and experiences that have been involved, and therefore the authentic integrity of the historical reconstruction that was undertaken. In fact, each of the partners involved was able to investigate into the history of their own country. The common goal consisted in helping to underline the traces left in these countries by the same European history, and this was achieved by successively putting together the results of the work carried out by each single partner. These, then are the traces that MEMORY seeks to offer to European citizens,
who, in their turn, happen to represent the very reason why the project was born.
