Ignition is a film and television production company that is characteristically distinguished by its having "a local base and an international coverage", which in turn makes it just the right place for the development of creativity. As a matter of fact, Southeast England is quite gifted in talents: movie writers, actors, and directors, as well as film producers and technicians. Ignition represents a natural convergence point for these talents, and has already been able to construct an extended network of contacts within the creative community.
Terry Flaxton and Alison Sterling founded the company in 1999. Today, armed with years of experience in the film industry and in theatrical productions, Ignition is quite set to achieve its objectives. The company seeks to discover new authentic individual voices, have at its disposal the necessary resources and make innovative use of new technologies for the production of films, launch new authors and producers at national and international levels, and transform Southeast England into a centre for film production.
"We feel that the MEMORY Project could become a vital resource by permitting future generations to look at the past through the documentation of the lives of individuals. The project is innovative, since it makes use of the latest technologies, and of incomparable relevance as far as its size and aspirations are concerned. These will probably be the last years that would offer the opportunity of encountering someone who was directly involved in the cataclysm of the Second World War. The MEMORY Project will therefore be the most valuable instrument for the conservation and transmission of these vital direct testimonials".
